This blog post is going to be quick -- and I know my posts have been fewer and further between lately. I've mentioned the new, more compact probe in previous notes. I now have the first flying prototype, and it looks like it works pretty nicely! Check out this video:

For this test, I installed the probe on the GoPro "pole" I made for my airplane co-owners to use, and taped a small battery to the pole. Since the new probe is so much smaller and lighter, it actually worked out fine cantilevered at the end of the pole -- just like a GoPro camera would!
This is a design that may actually have enough legs to be the basis of a small-run "production". I'm very excited!!
